Retrieve the "Ok Google" Voice Model when Google search not working:
Occasionally for reasons unknown, Google Assistant does not retain the order you give. If all else fails, it may be time to reverse your digital partner.
- Open Settings> Google> Search> Sound
- Make sure access with the voice match is turned on.
- From there, tap on the retrain voice model and repeat "OK Google" when prompted.
- Check your language settings
If Google Assistant is not responding to you, then perhaps it is because you are speaking the wrong language. US English will be the default language for many users, but it is still worth checking in settings menu and changing as needed. To do this, go to the Google app and then its main menu, then go to Settings> Voice under search, and then select the appropriate language from the Voice menu.
Check the microphone on your device
As a sound-based system, Google Assistant relies on seamless access to your smartphone's microphone. When you open the Google app, the microphone icon should look bold with fully constructed lines to the right of the search bar. If there is a dotted line in it, you may have problems with your microphone.
This may be due to debris in the hole of the small microphone found next to the charging port - a carefully poke around with a safety pin or it is similar to clean and you will often fix the problem. If that does not work, check the microphone settings within the Google app.
